Partners in Education Mentoring Program

Lago Vista Independent School District’s mentoring initiative serves as the framework in which to develop, support, and recognize community-based mentoring programs in Lago Vista ISD campuses. The District thanks the Lago Vista ISD Education Foundation for sponsoring this program.

Goals

Mentoring is a program in which students are paired with caring adults who are willing to spend time helping young people succeed. The main goal of the Partners in Education Mentor Program is to provide students with an opportunity to interact with positive adult role models who will encourage and motivate students to succeed in school.

Mission

The Lago Vista ISD Partners in Education Mentoring Program is a partnership of dedicated community members:

• Providing positive adult role models for students;
• Fostering relationships that help students become successful learners;
• Reinforcing positive attitudes towards learning and problem-solving; and

• Building self-esteem by motivating students to strive for academic success.

These actions are taken so that students may excel academically and accomplish their dreams and aspirations.
