Digging in the Dirt
Fresh food, full hearts, and muddy hands! Lago Vista Elementary’s winter garden is in full swing as students harvest romaine, kale, and early root vegetables - while eagerly waiting for the rest to be ready. Students are also fueling our compost program with lunchroom scraps, sparking big conversations about sustainability. With soil and plant life cycle lessons ahead, this garden is proving that learning really does grow here.
Shoutout to Angie Lofton for planting the seeds of learning. Her passion has created meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that help students grow far beyond the garden beds.
