Lago Vista Jr. RelaysMarch 12, 2025

 

Our track teams competed at our 10th annual Lago Vista Relays Invitational on Wednesday, March 12th. Our athletes competed extremely well with many PRs throughout the night. We are very proud of the hard work and effort shown!

As soon as we have the results, we will send out more specifics about each event.

Hoops, They Did it Again!
February 2025

Congrats to all players on a very successful basketball season. For the coaches, it was a pleasure to get to coach these young men and everyone should be proud of the progress we made. We wanted to send a season recap to celebrate all our teams accomplishments this season.

7A

The 7th Grade A team finished 8-5 overall with a district record of 5-3. This squad earned a 3rd place finish at the Wimberley Junior High Tournament, dropping a very close semi-final game to the host team. The leading scorers were Kooper Kudrna, Alex O’Campo, Tyler Tarlton, and Wesley Willeford.

7B

The LVMS 7th grade B team finished with a season record of 6-5. Our tournament record was 2-1 for 3rd place in the Wimberley Tournament. Our district record was 4-4. The defensive leaders of the season were Brikk Turner with an average of 3.1 steals per game and Joseph Kurinsky with an average of 3.5 rebounds per game. Our offensive leaders for the season were Brikk Turner and Dutch Blair with an average of 5.3 points per game and 4.3 points per game, respectively, and Cameron Johnson with an average of 0.8 assists per game.

8A

The 8th grade A team finished 11-2 overall and was the district runner-up with a district record of 7-1. They were also the Champions of the Wimberley Junior High Tournament. The leading scorers were Easton Rice (150 pts.), Ayden Chaffin (144 pts.), and Trevor Lane (76 pts.) They also had multiple games where EVERY player scored points – an incredible stat.

8B

The LVMS 8th grade B team finished with a season record of 6-5. Our tournament record was 2-1 for 3rd place in the Wimberley Tournament. Our district record was 4-4. The defensive leaders of the season were Travis Long with an average of 6.5 rebounds per game and Landon Jordan with an average of 4.8 steals per game. Our offensive leaders for the season were Austin Tarver with an average of 5.8 points per game and Brysen Cox with 1.9 assists per game.

The LVMS Boy’s Basketball program took a HUGE step forward this season thanks to everyone’s hard work. Players – your attitude and effort were unmatched and we appreciate all you gave to us this year. If you notice, all 4 teams won more games than they lost, which means you played the right way, trusted the process, and got the result that we wanted more times than not. Parents – we couldn’t have done it without your enthusiasm, volunteering, and overall support. 8th Graders – you are leaving this program BETTER than you found it, which is the highest honor you can receive.

One Act Play - District Champs!
February 1, 2025

The MS Theatre One Act Play won 1st place at their district competition on Saturday. They competed against 4 other schools, Burnet, Jarrell, Lampasas, and Taylor.

Alex Stoneham was one of eight actors in the competition to be named to the All-Star Cast. Tyler Turnley and Cara Woodring were 2 of 8 actors named to the Honorable Mention All Star Cast. Ian Rodriguez Villela received one of 8 All Star Tech Awards. Summer Thatcher received one of two Best Performer awards of the competition competing against 67 other actors total.

Additional Cast and crew for the winning production are: Silas Gambrell, Maddy Rodriguez, Riley Trujillo, Brookley Janson, Cora Larkin, Peri Yuksel, Liam O'Bryant, Sienna McGuire, Ella Snyder, Max Walker, Jasmine Baker, Patrick Tschoener, and Holden Gray

Peace Poster Award Winners
October 30, 2024

For many years, the Lago Vista and Point Venture Lions Club have sponsored the "Peace Poster" competition, and the students have always done an amazing job. Here are this year's winners:

Point Venture's winners:

XC Runs Final Meet of the Season
October 8, 2024

We had an incredible cross country season this year! We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, and commitment we saw this season. Our runners faced tough competition and continued to improve their times and reach PR’s. Congratulations on a great season Vikings!

Our boys and girls cross country teams competed at the District Race on Tuesday, October 8th at Marble Falls High School.

Our 8th grade girls earned 2nd place scoring a total of 78 points. Our top 5 scoring runners at the district race were:

  • Madilyn Weldon - 9th place
  • Vanessa Lee - 14th place
  • Lucy Smith - 16th place
  • Taytum Stojanik - 23rd
  • Addison Brown - 29th

Also competing for our team was Aaliyah Arthur, Peyton Christianson, Lauren Carpenter, Emerie Magana, Zoe Krautter, Piper Knisely, Aislin Munoz, Hailey Hipskind, Malia Nieves, Anberlin McClellen, Emma Phillips, and Victoria Nunez.

Our 7th grader girls earned 2nd place with a total of 81 points. Our top 5 scoring runners for the district meet were:

  • Bennett Buster - 13th place
  • Summer Neid - 21st place
  • Gracyn Koncak - 27th place
  • Liata Keehl - 28th place
  • Brooke Viruette - 35th place

Also competing for the 7th grade girls was Lillian Kamenzind, Glendy Chavez, Cora Larkin, and Piper Brown.

The 8th grade boys came in 6th place with a total of 106 points. Our top 5 scoring runners for the 8th grade boys were:

  • John Roberts - 8th place
  • Bennett Walker - 22nd place
  • Joseph Spence - 24th place
  • Mason Lee - 26th place
  • William Hampton - 30th place

Also competing for the 8th grade boys were Ryker Pennington, Cole Makowichuk, Gavin Merritt, Brock McKinney, Gabriel Manley, Garan Childs, and Diego Rodriguez.

The 7th grade boys earned fourth place with a total of 90 points. Our top 5 scoring runners were:

  • Tyler Tarlton - DISTRICT CHAMPION
  • Kooper Kudrna - 4th place
  • Ethan Munoz - 17th place
  • Nicholas Cordaway - 39th place
  • Carter Brannen - 46th place
  • Liam O’Bryant - 55th place

Also competing for the 7th grade district team Luis Andres, Yosuf Arthur, and Cirilo Haynes.
