October 10-District Champions!LVHS cross country teams had an outstanding day at Walter E. Long Park!

Varsity & JV Girls are District Champs! Maia Joshua set a PR of 13:20 and was the 1st place finisher for the race. Sophie Seewald was 2nd, Hanna Simmons was 3rd, Molly Roberts was 4th, Scotlyn Stamos was 5th, and Laila Burlew was 14th. The Varsity girls had a perfect score of 15 points.

JV girls Emerson Chadwick was 1st, Ariana Ramos was 4th, Ayva Ritter was 5th, Peyton Brown was 7th, and Maribelle Cushman was 10 for the overall top 10 finishers in the JV race.

Lago Vista Boys are District Champions! Incredible outing for the Lago Vista Boys Cross Country team! Mason Hrncir placed 2nd, Miguel Rocha came in 3rd, Sebastian Vazquez in 4th, Nick Duncan placed 6th, Westin Walker in 15th, Kaden Kutch with a 16th place finish and , Victor Plua finished in 18th!

These athletes represented LVHS well and we are so proud of your performance! See you at Regionals in Corpus Christi (Oct 21).

September 28-Corpus Christi Islander Invitational

LVHS cross country spent their weekend at the coast! There were 47 teams total in the 1A-4A Varsity Girls race. Lady Vikings were 5th out of 35 complete teams (all 4 teams ahead of us are top 10 state ranked teams in their divisions!). Sophie Seewald was our lead finisher for LVHS. They did great!

Lago Vista Boys flexed today on a tough course in Corpus Christi. They battled humid hot conditions and came out on strong with the mental perseverance needed as we approach district in 12 days. Mason Hrncir came in with a 20.12, Nic Duncan 20:59, Victor Plua shined with a 22:36, Kaden Kutch at 22:53, Nathaniel Castillo with almost a PR at 23:54, Elliot Orr next at 23:55, and Richard Mata rounding out at 30:15. Boys finished 18 out of 22. Next up, district on October 10.

September 20-Hoka/McNeil Invitational

Great showing from the girls XC team today. Sophie Seewald, Hanna Simmons, and Molly Roberts all had season bests today. There were 369 runners in the girls Varsity race, and 46 teams for 4A Varsity girls.

JV, Amelia Cook had a PR, and it was Lynzie Morris’ first race of the season.

September 7-Cedar Park

Varsity girls finished 3rd today! They ran well.

Medalists:

Sophie Seewald - 9th
Saylor Stamos - 10th

All 5 runners in the top 30 out of 81 runners. Saylor Stamos, Maia Joshua, and Scotlyn Stamos all at PRs today in the Varsity race. In the JV race, Laila Burlew PR’d by 40 seconds, and Amelia Cook PR’d by 1 min 12 seconds. They did great!!

Varsity Boys had a great showing today. Lots of great schools out today and our boys performed as expected. Each finding improvements in different sections of the race.

Mason led Varsity with an 18:57 followed by
Miguel Rocha 19:19
Westin Walker 20:57 and
Elliot Orr at 24:10

JV came out to PR! Led by

Nic Duncan at 20:44 followed by
Kaden Kutch at 22:13
Victor Plua at 22:16, and
Isaiah Orr at 29:33

August 28 -Comfort

1st place Varsity Girls team in Comfort today! All girls were in the top 20.

Runners medaling were:

Sophie Seewald - 4th
Maia Joshua - 8th
Saylor Stamos - 10th

Hanna Simmons was 11th, Molly Roberts was 14th, and Scotlyn Stamos was 17th.

JV girls were Laila Burlew & Amelia Cook. Laila medaled with a 4th place finish.

Boys Varsity had 3 runners, all with solid SBs for 2.9 miles.

Mason Hrncir medaled 7th
Sebastian Vasquez medaled 10th
Westin Walker big PR at 16th

JV boys had Elliot Orr medal 10th, Victor Plua big PR, Richard Mata first 5k, Gavin Wynne strong finish!
