Lago Vista ISD is excited to welcome our new students and their families to the Viking Nation! Whether you recently moved to the area or have been here for a while, we strive to make the pre-registration and enrollment process for our Pre-K and Kindergarten students as smooth as possible. To begin the process, please follow the steps below.  If you have any questions, please email the Lago Vista Elementary School campus registrar at Welcome to Lago Vista ISD!

Online pre-registration for Pre-K & Kindergarten is open until June 1, 2021!

Step 1: Pre-Register Your Pre-K or Kindergarten Student

In order to help us determine numbers and class sizes, parents are strongly encouraged to complete the online pre-registration for EACH CHILD they intend to enroll for the upcoming school year.  You may complete the online pre-registration form by visiting the link below.  Online pre-registration for Pre-K and Kindergarten is open until June 1, 2021.  After that date, please contact the campus registrar at

Step 2: Provide Us With Student Placement Information (Kindergarten Only)

All kindergarten parents are invited to provide us with student information that will help with class placements.  Requests for a specific teacher will not be considered.

Step 3: Enroll Your New Student Through Ascender Parent Portal

All students Lago Vista ISD utilizes a web portal, Ascender Parent Portal, which allows parents to view attendance records, as well as update contact information online. The information provided in Parent Portal is what the school uses to contact parents, so it is very important that all information provided in Parent Portal is correct and up-to-date. Parents enrolling a new student in the District will create a Parent Portal account and submit enrollment information to the District electronically. Parents enrolling multiple new students will create only one account and submit enrollment information for each student using that account.

In addition to providing important student information, parents will provide the District with the required documentation for enrollment through Ascender Parent Portal. Before student enrollment will be processed, all students entering Lago Vista ISD must upload copies of the following documents into Ascender Parent Portal:

  • Up-to-Date Immunization Records (See below for requirements.)
  • Student Birth Certificate
  • Student Social Security Card (A state ID may also be used.)
  • Proof of Residency (Lago Vista ISD does not accept transfers for Pre-K or Kindergarten)
  • Enrolling Parent or Guardian Photo ID
  • Custodial Paperwork (Required, if applicable.)

Information on Proof of Residency

Residency Verification Affidavit

To begin, please visit the Lago Vista ISD Parent Portal siteNote: During your account creation, you will be asked to verify your email address. This is an important step and failure to verify your email address will disable your account.   Please follow the instructions carefully to ensure continued access to your account.

Once your student's enrollment is processed, you will need a Student Portal ID (a unique code separate from your child's Student ID) from the campus and the student's birthdate in order to link to the student's information. Student Portal IDs are distributed by the campus at the beginning of the school year. If you have multiple students, you will enter the Student Portal ID for each student into your account.

Step 4: Complete Annual Student Registration Process

Each year, parents of existing and newly enrolled Lago Vista ISD students must complete the annual registration process.  Registration forms provide the District with official documentation of important permissions, acknowledgments, and information required by the State to qualify students for services. Annual registration form packets are sent home at the beginning of school. Completed and signed registration forms are required for each student, each year.
