State & Federal Programs

Lago Vista ISD state and federal programs offer supplemental services to students, schools, and families with educational needs.  The goal of these programs is to connect students, families, and the community to provide education and support needed to overcome barriers and achieve academic success and personal success.


State Programs
Lago Vista ISD provides supplemental support for students in special populations through the State Compensatory Education (SCE) program. 
State Compensatory Education
The goal of the State Compensatory Education (SCE) program is to reduce any disparity in student performance or in the rates of high school completion between students at risk of dropping out of school and all other students (TEC Section 29.081).
Federal Programs
Lago Vista ISD participates in federally funded programs designed to support students in special populations. LVISD participates in four formulary federal entitlement grants: Title I, Part A; Title I, Part C (Carl D. Perkins); Title II, Part A; and Title III, Part A. 
Title I
Title I is a federally funded program that supports local school reform efforts by offering improved teaching and learning opportunities to help low-achieving students meet our state’s challenging academic content and performance standards. 

Carl D. Perkins
The purpose of the Carl D. Perkins grant program is to more fully develop the academic and career and technical skills of secondary education students who elect to enroll in CTE programs.

Title II
Title II, Part A funds are designed to increase student achievement through improving teacher and principal capacity. These funds are also utilized to support professional development to help improve teaching, learning and supervision. 

Title III
The Title III, Part A Limited English Proficient (LEP) funds are used to develop programs for limited English proficient students to attain English proficiency, develop high levels of academic attainment, and meet the state content standards and student achievement standards.
