2020-2021 Viking Victories

Boys State Golf TournamentMay 17-18, 2021

Congratulations to Junior Braden Smith for being the 18th best golfer in the State of Texas. He participated in the 2021 UIL State of Texas Boy's Golf Tournament, held in Manor, TX at ShadowGlen Golf course. Despite "unfavorable" weather conditions and predictions, we were able to get all 36 holes played.
A huge thank you to Braden, his family, and his supporters. Braden has a very bright future in the golf community. We would also like to thank Principal Stu Taylor, LVHS Athletic Director Craten Phillips and all of the LVHS staff, Lago Vista Golf Course Head Pro, Chris Godwin and his staff, and the Lago Vista golfing community for all of their support and well wishes. LVHS didn't bring home the gold, this year, but we are already planning to bring it home next year! GO VIKINGS!

Burning It Up!

This year was our largest group of welders who passed their certification tests and are certified welders!

Congrats Bella Zaleski, Ricky Reséndiz, Seth Vaughn, Julia Ball, Brennan Baker, Anson Eleuterius, Roberto Mercado, Ethan Perales, Hunter Pool, and Jacob Moreno. They  worked all year to prepare for the AWS D1.1 structural welding test; 3 tested in the flat position and 5 tested in the vertical position. The final 2, Jacob and Hunter, both took a 6G pipe test and passed. That is a first for our welding program and we couldn't be more fired up!

Next, Violet Stone advanced to the State level art competition in V.A.S.E. (Visual Art Scholastic Event). She competed against students from all regions of the state 1A to 6A.
