State Cross Country

Saturday, November 3, 2018
The State Meet signals the official end of each cross country season. Lago Vista has now made it tradition to be there. This year Lago Vista was represented by the girls TEAM and Andrew Holt for the boys. The ladies finished as the 15th best TEAM in the state of Texas, such a big honor! Andrew Holt finished his last race of his senior year with the best race of his life to date (more to come in track!). He finished as the 10th fastest young man in Texas! 3A has some amazing competitors, but Andrew took most of them down Saturday at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. They invite the 152 best men and women to the state meet and of those Andrew was 10th. He was awarded a Top 10 finisher medal and an All State Plaque. As amazing as all these state performances were, the entire team did amazing things this year.

District - Varsity District Champions, Andrew Holt Individual District Champ, Nate Deveze Top 10
Region - 7th place team and only a few points shy of a state appearance
State - Andrew Holt 10th place individually with a 16:29 (that's 5:18 per mile for 3.1 miles!)

District - JV District Champions w/ a PERFECT SCORE (1,2,3,4,5=15), but also finished in 6,7,8,10,13,16 out of 29 total to take all but 1 top 10 finishing spot
Varsity 2nd place and Region Qualifiers, Esther Long/Phoebe Gale/Courtney Keeney all finished Top 10
Region - 3rd place team and State Qualifiers
State - 15th place team, Esther Long top finisher in 40th with a 12:50

Bi-District Champs!

Please congratulate the team members of our volleyball teams on their outstanding seasons.

While our varsity season ended last night (11/1/18) on a rough note, the girls still had one of the best seasons in the history of Lago Vista. One loss will not define all of the accomplishments the girls achieved this season and what a truly great team they were.

Competing against tough non-district and district competition, our varsity squad finished with a season record of 30 wins & 6 losses and a district record of 10 wins & 2 losses (District Runner-up). Along the way, the girls had numerous wins over state-ranked opponents in all classifications and placed 4th out of 24 teams at the Wimberley Tournament.
