Lago Vista ISD
Enrollment & Registration

Lago Vista ISD is excited to welcome our students and their families to the Viking Nation! The information explains the process of enrolling a new student, as well as the annual registration process for all students. If you are the parent of a non-resident student and wish to become a Lago Vista Viking by requesting an out-of-district transfer for your student, please view the information application below.

Out-of-District Student Transfers

To request consideration for an out-of-district transfer, fill out the application and return it to the Lago Vista ISD Administration office at the address noted on application. Please note:

  • Applications are effective for one school year only and must be re-submitted each year.
  • Transportation to and from campus is the applicant's responsibility.
  • Transfers may be denied if there is insufficient space in the appropriate grade-level or it would require the hiring of additional personnel.

Applications for the upcoming school year are accepted through June 30th.  After June 30th, applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis based on class size and staffing availability.

New Student Enrollment & Registration Process

Prior to attending a school in Lago Vista ISD, a new student must be enrolled.  A new student is one who has never attended a school in Lago Vista ISD, or is a previous Lago Vista ISD student who withdrew prior to the last day of school in the previous school year. To enroll in Lago Vista ISD, a student must reside within the school district boundaries or be accepted as an out-of-district transfer student. Parents enrolling a new student must complete the following steps:

Step 1: Enroll Your New Student at the Campus
All students entering Lago Vista ISD must visit the campus of enrollment to begin the enrollment process.  There, you will provide the District with important student information and the required documentation for enrollment. Before student enrollment and registration paperwork will be processed, all students entering Lago Vista ISD must bring the following documents to the campus:

    • Up-to-Date Immunization Records (See below for requirements.)
    • Birth Certificate
    • Social Security Cards (A state ID may also be used.)
    • Proof of Residency
    • Last Report Card or Transcript of Grades
    • State Testing Results, if available (TAKS/STAAR)
    • Accompanying Parent or Guardian with a Photo ID
    • Custodial Paperwork (Required, if applicable.)
    Residence Verification Affidavit

Step 2: Enroll Your New Student Through txConnect

Lago Vista ISD utilizes a web portal, txConnect, which allows parents and students to view grades and attendance records, as well as update contact information online. The information provided in txConnect is what the school uses to contact parents, so it is very important that all information provided in txConnect is correct and up-to-date.

New LVISD Parent Enrolling a New Student
After completing Step 1 and prior to the first day of school, parents enrolling a new student in the District will create a txConnect account and submit enrollment information to the District electronically. Parents enrolling multiple new students will create only one account and submit enrollment information for each student using that account.

To begin, click here for detailed instructions on how to create your first txConnect account to enroll a new student. Note: During your account creation, you will be asked to verify your email address. This is an important step and failure to verify your email address will disable your account. Please follow the instructions carefully to ensure continued access to your account.

Once your student's enrollment is processed, you will need a Student Portal ID (a unique code separate from your child's Student ID) from the campus and the student’s birthdate in order to link to the student’s information. Student Portal IDs are distributed by the campus at the beginning of the school year. If you have multiple students, you will enter the Student Portal ID for each student into your account.

Current LVISD Parents Enrolling a New Student
After completing Step 1 and prior to the first day of school, parents enrolling a new student who also have a current Lago Vista ISD student will log into their existing txConnect account and proceed to the "Enroll a New Student" section. Once your student's information is submitted and his/her enrollment is processed, you will need a Student Portal ID (a unique code separate from your child's Student ID) from the campus and the student’s birthdate in order to link to your student’s information. Student Portal IDs are distributed by the campus at the beginning of the school year.

Note: If the campus registrar enrolls your new student into our system due to timing (e.g., school is about to start or has already started), please see the section below for instructions on creating a new txConnect account for parents of a currently enrolled student.

Step 3: Complete Online Registration Forms
Student registration forms are collected for all enrolled students each year. Registration forms provide the District with official documentation of important permissions, acknowledgments, and information required by the State to qualify students for services. Completed and signed registration forms are required for each student, each year.

Parents/guardians will receive an email (using the address presented at enrollment) that contains a personalized link to the new student registration forms. If you are registering multiple new students, a new student registration packet will be sent for each student. Registration forms must be completed within 7 days of receipt and will be submitted with a digital signature.

     Returning Student Registration Process

A returning student is a student who was enrolled in Lago Vista ISD on the last day of school in the previous school year. If a student attended Lago Vista ISD in the previous school year, but withdrew prior to the last day of school, he/she must re-enroll as a new student using the instructions above. Each year, parents of returning students must complete the following steps:

Step 1: Verify/Update Your Information in txConnect
Parents of currently enrolled students are asked to log into their txConnect account to verify/update student information at the beginning of each school year. Parents can update addresses, parent/guardian information, and emergency contact information on txConnect throughout the year if there is a change.

Please verify/update your returning student’s information by logging into your txConnect account and completing the following steps:
    1. Click on the "Summary" tab and select "View/Edit Forms" under Student Name.
    2. Select the applicable information link.
    3. Update your information, if needed, and click "Save Changes".
After you submit the updated information, your campus registrar will receive the request and process it accordingly. If there are any questions about the changes submitted, the campus will contact you directly.

Have an Enrolled Student and Need to Set Up txConnect?
If you are the parent of an enrolled student, but have not set up your txConnect account, please follow these instructions to create a new user account in txConnect for parents with an existing student. Note: During your account creation, you will be asked to verify your email address. This is an important step and failure to verify your email address will disable your account.

    Have a Disabled txConnect Account?
If your txConnect account is disabled and attempts to create a new account provide an error that your email address is already being used by another user, please send an email from the address of the disabled account to registration@lagovista.txed.net to have the account removed.  This will allow you to create a new user account using that same email address. Note: Please note that requests may take longer to process during peak times of the year.

Step 2: Complete Online Registration Forms
Student registration forms are collected for all enrolled students each year. Registration forms provide the District with official documentation of important permissions, acknowledgments, and information required by the State to qualify students for services. Completed and signed registration forms are required for each student, each year.

Parents/guardians will receive an email that contains a personalized link to the returning student registration forms. If you are registering multiple returning students, a returning student registration packet will be sent for each student. Registration forms must be completed within 7 days of receipt and will be submitted with a digital signature.
